Plants need carbon dioxide to live and grow; yet, somehow the CAGW folks who oppose increasing atmospheric carbon levels call themselves “green.” Seems ill-chosen. We make the planet greener by increasing atmospheric carbon. The planet has actually increased the amount of foliage in the last few decades. This is called the CO2 fertilization effect.

Atmospheric carbon has been decreasing for many millions of years. With each glacial maximum in our Ice Age cycles, the polar and worldwide coldness embeds more atmospheric carbon into the oceans. And plant and animal life, at death, places carbon into the crust. The optimal level of CO2 for plant growth is 1000 ppm. We are currently at 400 ppm. We have a long way to go before our green maximum. Consult Patrick Moore.
